TAIPEI - ASUS has announced the Googlebook 14, calling it the first ASUS laptop designed for Gemini Intelligence, in a Pressroom release dated Sept. 22, 2026, and recirculated on Sept. 23 as the machine moves into preorder and regional launch windows.
The 14-inch ultraportable starts at about 0.99 kilograms and as thin as roughly 10.9 to 10.99 millimeters, depending on how ASUS rounds the chassis in marketing copy. It uses a CNC-machined magnesium-aluminum body finished in Dusk Ash with Nano Ceramic surface treatment meant to resist scratches, stains, and abrasion. ASUS says the design meets MIL-STD 810H and the company’s Superior Durability tests.

On paper the machine pairs Gemini features with Android phone continuity. Magic Pointer lets users point at on-screen objects to ask, compare, or create with Gemini. Proactive suggestions surface actions based on what is visible without a separate prompt. With supported Android 17 devices, ASUS says owners can start a task on a phone and finish it on the laptop, cast phone apps to the notebook, and pull phone files into documents without duplicate transfers.
ASUS bundles 12 months of Google AI Pro on eligible Googlebook purchases in listed markets, with expanded Gemini, Flow, and Notebook access plus 5TB of cloud storage for a limited promotional window. Full offer terms sit on googlebook.com and in the Pressroom footnotes.
Hardware skews toward sustained ultraportable work rather than desktop replacement bulk. Configurations reach an Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 3 processor (product pages cite up to Core Ultra 7 Processor 355), up to 64GB of LPDDR5X memory, and up to a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. A 70Wh battery is rated up to 18 hours under ASUS video-playback testing. The 14-inch 16:10 3K OLED HDR touchscreen peaks near 1,000 nits with a 120Hz panel behind Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and Gorilla Matte anti-glare. Audio uses a six-speaker stack with dual force-canceling woofers. The haptic touchpad has six-point force sensing, and the backlit keyboard offers 1.5mm key travel.
Ports stay dense for a sub-kilo chassis: two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports with Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1b, and a 3.5mm combo jack, plus WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. Security hardware includes Google’s Titan C chip, a webcam privacy shield, and fingerprint unlock.
U.S. preorder coverage around the CX9406CAA has cited a starting price near $1,299.99, with Canadian retail from about C$1,799 and broader store dates into early October in some markets. Specs and street prices vary by region.
