SEOUL - Samsung Electronics Co. on Sept. 16 began rolling out the stable One UI 9.0 update, built on Android 17, to Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra phones in South Korea, ending nearly five months of public beta testing that opened in May.
SamMobile reported that the Korean firmware build is listed around S94xNKSU4BZ16 and includes the September 2026 security patch. Former beta testers see a download of about 550MB. Users who never joined the beta can expect a larger package once the same build reaches them. PhoneArena’s coverage of the same day said the first Korean over-the-air wave is prioritizing people who took part in the beta program, with a wider push to other models expected within days.
Samsung told SamMobile the stable release should expand beyond Korea in the coming days. Owners can check availability in Settings, then Software update, then Check for updates. Samsung advises installing only when the phone has more than 30 percent battery remaining.

According to Samsung’s official rollout notes and BusinessToday’s Sept. 17 summary, One UI 9 was already available on Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8 before the S26 Korea start. Samsung says the software adds My FanCam, which automatically tracks a selected person in recorded video and keeps them centered as the scene moves, plus generative and editable cards in Now Brief for customizable daily summaries. Security Brief brings malware, unknown-app, and permission alerts into Now Brief. Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to flag potential background permission risks. Scam Detection is expanding to more countries and languages, with India included alongside Japan and Canada in Samsung’s notes. Warranty and Care consolidates warranty checks, self-diagnostics, repair estimates, Samsung Care+, and service booking inside Settings. Feature availability can vary by country, carrier, and model.

Earlier One UI 9 beta coverage from Android Authority and SamMobile also described a more customizable Quick Panel and accessibility tools such as Text Spotlight. Those write-ups are beta-period reporting. The Sept. 16 Korean package is the production Android 17 release for the S26 trio, not a separate feature dump announced only that day.
For Galaxy S26 series buyers outside Korea, the practical next step is the same check-for-updates path over the next several days. Samsung says the update will gradually expand to other Galaxy devices. History with prior One UI majors suggests other regions follow Korea quickly, though Samsung has not posted a full country-by-country calendar for this release.
