BEIJING - Xiaomi has opened HyperOS 4 beta recruitment for Global and European Economic Area flagship phones, expanding a program that began in China about a month earlier and putting the company’s newest 17-series devices at the front of the queue.

The first wave is already live for the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi. A second wave is scheduled to begin Sept. 17 for the Xiaomi 17T, Xiaomi 17T Pro, Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Xiaomi is limiting the initial international beta to Global and EEA model variants, with other regions expected to follow.

Owners who want in are directed to the Xiaomi Community app: Me, then Beta testing, then Recruiting test, where they fill out a questionnaire. Xiaomi says some beta tracks may require Xiaomi Account verification. Accepted testers receive the HyperOS 4 beta over the air. The company and reporting outlets warn that beta builds can be unstable and urge a backup before upgrading. Rolling back to stable HyperOS 3 requires flashing firmware; there is no simple one-tap revert.

The staged rollout keeps Xiaomi’s newest imaging flagships on the early software path while older 15-series and midrange 17T models join days later. For Global and EEA shoppers already on those devices, the Community app is the gate for the first look at HyperOS 4 outside China.
