LAS VEGAS - Alphabet’s Waymo began opening its robotaxi service to the public in Las Vegas on Monday, making the Strip’s home market the company’s 15th city for hailable autonomous rides and putting its new Ojai minivan at the center of the launch.
Waymo said it will invite riders on a rolling basis and issue access codes as capacity grows, following the same invite-first playbook it has used in other cities.

The company is starting with dozens of Ojai vehicles covering an area that includes the Strip south of Highway 589 and into Boulder Junction, with plans to expand the fleet and service zone over time.
