Oppo Find X10 Pro Max Goes on Sale in Britain and Europe at £1,499, With a Smaller Battery Than in China

Oppo's triple 200-megapixel camera phone and the cheaper Find X10 are now on sale outside China. European buyers pay more than last year and get 7,150mAh cells instead of 8,000mAh.

MALLORCA, Spain - Oppo has started selling its Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max outside China, putting a price on what it calls the first phone with three 200-megapixel rear cameras. In Britain the Pro Max costs £1,499 for its only configuration, 12GB of memory and 512GB of storage, TechRadar reported. The company unveiled both phones for global markets at an event in Mallorca on Oct. 21 and said they would reach stores worldwide from late October.

European prices start lower for the standard model. The Find X10 costs €1,299 with 256GB of storage and €1,499 with 512GB, while the Pro Max is €1,799, according to MobiDevices, which noted that the base price varies by country and reaches €1,399 in Spain. GSMArena put the British prices of the Find X10 at about £1,100 and £1,250. In Australia, Oppo opened preorders on Oct. 22 at A$2,299 for the Find X10 and A$2,699 for the Pro Max, with retail sales from Oct. 29, ChannelNews reported. The phones are not sold in the United States.

That is a steep climb. The Find X9 Pro launched in Britain at £1,099, TechRadar noted, so buyers who treat the Pro Max as its successor are paying £400 more. To soften it, Oppo UK is taking £100 off between Oct. 21 and Oct. 28 and adding a free accessory worth up to £500, a choice of the Hasselblad Teleconverter, the Oppo Watch X3 or the Oppo Pad 5, GSMArena said.

The global models also give something up. Both phones launched in China with 8,000mAh batteries, but the versions sold in Europe carry 7,150mAh cells, GSMArena reported. Oppo’s own release says only that the phones have “up to” 8,000mAh. Charging is unchanged at 80 watts wired and 50 watts wireless.

The cameras are the reason the Pro Max exists. Its ultrawide uses a 1/1.56-inch sensor behind a 124-degree lens, the main camera uses a 1/1.28-inch Isocell HPC sensor that Oppo developed with Samsung, and the telephoto pairs an f/2.1 aperture with a 10-centimeter minimum focus distance so it can double as a macro lens. All three are 200 megapixels. The standard Find X10 has 200-megapixel main and telephoto cameras. Both shoot 26-megapixel photos by default from ultrawide to 9.9x zoom, with full-resolution modes available, and both work with Oppo’s clip-on Hasselblad Teleconverter, which adds 3.28x optical magnification.

The two phones also differ under the glass. The Pro Max runs MediaTek’s 2-nanometer Dimensity 9600 Pro, while the Find X10 uses the 3-nanometer Dimensity 9600M, according to Oppo. Screens measure 6.59 inches on the Find X10 and 6.78 inches on the Pro Max, both with refresh rates up to 144Hz and a rated peak of 3,600 nits, and both phones carry IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings. Oppo first announced the Oct. 21 global launch date earlier this month, and GSMArena reported that India is next on the schedule.
