SHENZHEN, China - Oppo will introduce its Find X10 flagship phones to buyers outside China on Oct. 21 at an event in Mallorca, Spain, the company said on Thursday, setting up a global release for what it calls the industry’s first phone with three 200-megapixel rear cameras.

The global lineup is the Find X10 and the Find X10 Pro Max. Oppo said it would announce full specifications, pricing and availability at the event. The series launched in China in September, and The Verge noted that the global date falls almost exactly a month later. GSMArena reported that Oppo’s British online store began taking preorders for the phones in September.

“Find X Series reflects our relentless pursuit of exceptional mobile imaging,” Pete Lau, Oppo’s senior vice president and chief product officer, said in a statement. “Together with Hasselblad, we are taking another significant step forward with Find X10 Series, bringing true-to-life detail, color and tone to everyday photography.”

The camera is the headline. The Pro Max puts 200-megapixel sensors behind its ultrawide, main and telephoto lenses, while the standard Find X10 has two 200-megapixel cameras, which GSMArena reported are paired with a 50-megapixel ultrawide. Both phones were developed with Hasselblad and use Oppo’s new LUMO True Image Engine, which the company says draws on color information from a separate True Color Camera to keep skin tones, textures and contrast natural.

Video gets an upgrade as well. On the Pro Max, all three rear cameras record 4K video at 120 frames per second and 8K at 30 frames per second, and the Find X10 offers the same on its two 200-megapixel cameras. A feature called Open Gate Capture records from the sensor’s full area so creators can reframe the same footage for horizontal or vertical formats afterward.

The Find X10 runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600M chip, while the Pro Max is among the first phones with the 2-nanometer Dimensity 9600 Pro. Both carry an 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery that Oppo rates at up to two days of typical use and says will keep more than 80 percent of its capacity after five years. In a footnote, the company said the phones will have a 7,150mAh battery in selected markets. GSMArena lists a 6.59-inch screen on the Find X10 and a 6.78-inch screen on the Pro Max.

The design changes are subtle. Oppo describes a Borderless Design in which a single piece of sculpted glass flows into the camera module. The Pro Max in Luna White borrows from classic cameras, with a matte silver camera island, knurled detailing and Hasselblad’s orange accent ring. The Find X10 will come in Glacier Blue, Glow Coral and Mist Grey, and the Pro Max in Titanium Grey and Luna White.

The phones will ship with ColorOS 17, which brings a new look Oppo calls Living Flow Design and an assistant, AI Mind Pilot with Agent Mode, that can work with files and photos on the phone to complete multistep tasks from a single prompt. Oppo’s ColorOS account on X said the software will be unveiled for global markets on Oct. 13.

What Oppo has not said is what the phones will cost outside China. That number, due in Mallorca, will decide how the Find X10 Pro Max lines up against the flagship phones from Samsung, Apple and Google that are already on shelves.
