SHENZHEN, China - OnePlus has settled the biggest question about its next performance phones before they launch. Both the Ace 7 and the Ace 7 Pro will carry a 9,000mAh battery, which the company calls its Glacier Battery, paired with 100-watt SuperVOOC wired charging, Gizmochina reported. An official OnePlus poster puts the figures on the whole Ace 7 series and sets the launch in China for 7 p.m. on Oct. 29.

Li Jie, the president of OnePlus China, said the battery can run up to seven hours of gaming at 185 frames per second or 24 hours of continuous video playback, according to Gizmochina. Both phones also get a dedicated battery management chip that OnePlus says keeps performance steady at low charge and preserves battery health for up to five years. They support bypass charging, which sends power straight to the phone during long gaming sessions instead of cycling the battery, a feature meant to cut heat and wear.

Cooling is the other headline. Both models have a built-in fan with two airflow paths, which OnePlus claims can lower temperatures by up to 10 degrees Celsius in extended play. Fans are becoming a fixture of China’s gaming phones this autumn, following Honor’s Win 2 launch on Oct. 21.

Store listings fill in the configurations. The Ace 7 Pro will be sold with 12GB and 256GB, 16GB and 256GB, 12GB and 512GB, 16GB and 512GB, and 16GB and 1TB, in Polar Night Black, Flowing Light White and a light blue finish called Pofeng. The 1TB model comes only in Pofeng. The standard Ace 7 offers the same choices minus the 1TB version, in Polar Night Black, Flowing Light White and Cuihuo, a silver-to-orange gradient. Li said that the Pofeng glass is meant to capture wind bursting outward from a single point and that the Cuihuo finish uses gradients on both the metal frame and the glass back to evoke tempered steel, IT Home reported. He added that the real phones look better than the pictures.

OnePlus has not announced prices, and the Oppo store listing for the Ace 7 Pro still reads “stay tuned.” Other specifications remain unconfirmed. GSMArena reported that the Ace 7 will use a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5V chip and the Pro the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and leaks point to a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED screen at 185Hz on both, a 200-megapixel main camera and, on the Pro, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto with 3.5x zoom. Reservations are open in China ahead of the launch.
