iPhone 18 Pro Goes on Sale as Queues Form Outside Apple Stores

CUPERTINO, Calif. - Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max went on sale Friday in stores and online across a first wave of more than 65 countries and regions, with early queues forming outside Apple locations in India and Apple Stores in checked cities opening around 8 a.m. local time, according to Apple, MacObserver, and CNBC-TV18.

Pre-orders began Saturday, Sept. 12. U.S. pricing starts at $1,199 for iPhone 18 Pro. Both Pro models ship in black, silver, glacier, and burgundy finishes with storage from 256GB to 2TB. Apple’s lineup centers on a variable-aperture 48-megapixel Fusion main camera and the A20 Pro chip.

In India, CNBC-TV18 reported Friday that buyers gathered outside Apple’s Select Citywalk store in Saket, Delhi, Apple’s Mumbai store, and the Imagine Apple premium reseller at Mall of Asia in Bengaluru before sales began at 8 a.m. IST. ANI video shared by CNBC-TV18 showed crowds outside the Mumbai store. India pricing starts at Rs 1,64,900 for iPhone 18 Pro and Rs 1,79,900 for iPhone 18 Pro Max, CNBC-TV18 said. The report also carried ANI customer comments from Delhi and Mumbai about pre-booked pickup slots and overnight waits; Techtember is not independently verifying those quotes.

MacObserver reported that all 12 Apple Store pages it checked across nine countries listed an 8 a.m. local opening on Sept. 18. Several non-U.S. stores add a note that some services, such as Genius Bar, may not be available during the special hours. Walk-in stock is not guaranteed. Apple and The Apple Post advise checking the Apple Store app or apple.com for pickup availability by model, color, and storage before traveling to a store.

Apple’s Newsroom availability note says customers in more than 65 countries and regions can buy Friday, with additional countries and regions beginning Friday, Sept. 25. The same launch day also brings Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, and AirPods 5 into stores in the first-wave markets.
