Tecno Spark 50S 5G Launches in India at Rs 19,999 With 6,500mAh Battery and 120Hz Screen

The budget 5G phone pairs a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 with 45W charging, MIL-STD-810H durability and IP64 protection. Amazon sales start Oct. 20 in Burgundy Red and Breeze Blue.

NEW DELHI - Tecno launched the Spark 50S 5G in India on Friday, Oct. 16, pricing the budget phone at Rs 19,999 for 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and Rs 22,999 for 8GB and 128GB, Gadgets 360 reported. Sales begin Oct. 20 on Amazon in two colors, Burgundy Red and Breeze Blue.

The Spark 50S 5G joins the recently launched Spark 50 5G. Tecno India called it “the most aggressively priced latest 5G phone on the market” in its launch post on X, leading with a 6,500mAh battery, 45W fast charging and military-grade drop protection.

The phone runs Android 16 on a 6.78-inch HD+ LCD at 720 by 1,600 pixels with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and 260 pixels per inch. Inside is MediaTek’s 6-nanometer Dimensity 6400, with two performance cores at up to 2.5GHz and six efficiency cores at 2.0GHz, according to Gadgets 360.

Durability is the headline feature for the price. Tecno says the Spark 50S 5G carries MIL-STD-810H certification and resists drops from up to 1.5 meters, a figure the company credits to SGS testing. The phone is IP64 rated for dust and splashes, and Tecno claims it can survive water up to 20 centimeters deep for five minutes.

The camera setup is simple: a single 50-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash in a horizontal pill-shaped island, and an 8-megapixel front camera. The 6,500mAh battery supports 45W wired charging. Connectivity covers 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone measures 168 by 79 by 8 millimeters and weighs about 210 grams.

Tecno’s launch posts also promise up to twice as fast UPI payments with a feature it calls UPS 3.0, along with what it describes as all-scenario AI noise cancellation.

For context, the Spark 50 5G launched in India at Rs 16,999 for 4GB and 128GB and Rs 18,999 for 6GB and 128GB, LatestLY reported, so the Spark 50S sits a step above it in Tecno’s lineup.
