Apple Opens iPhone Duo Get Ready Ahead of Oct. 16 Pre-Orders

The Apple Store app and apple.com now let buyers lock color, storage, carrier, AppleCare+, trade-in and payment before Friday's 5 a.m. Pacific rush. The foldable ships Oct. 23 from $1,999.

CUPERTINO, Calif. - Apple on Monday opened its Get Ready flow for the iPhone Duo, letting customers pre-select configuration details in the Apple Store app and on apple.com before pre-orders begin Friday, Oct. 16, at 5 a.m. Pacific Time.

Get Ready covers color and storage, carrier status, accessories, AppleCare+, trade-in choices, payment method, and shipping and billing addresses. Completing the steps is designed to shorten checkout to roughly one tap when the store flips live, a practical edge if early supply is tight.

The book-style foldable was unveiled Sept. 9. Pricing starts at $1,999 for 256GB in Night Sky or Star White. Apple has said devices arrive Oct. 23 in the United States and many other markets. Reports of production constraints have circulated for weeks, which is why Monday’s Get Ready window matters for buyers who want a specific trim on day one.

AppleInsider noted the flow became available after midday Eastern on Monday and then widened internationally. The setup window typically runs through much of Oct. 15 before the store briefly goes dark ahead of the Friday open. Shoppers often keep both the website and the Store app ready because either surface can recover first.

Get Ready does not place an order by itself. It only stages the cart so Friday’s rush is faster. Buyers who skip it can still order when pre-orders open, but they will fill every field under live demand. For Apple’s first foldable, that difference may decide who lands a ship date in the first wave.
