SHENZHEN, Honor opened sales of the Magic 9 Pro Max in China on Sept. 28, 2026, listing the imaging flagship from 6,499 yuan and framing it as a handheld cinema system co-engineered with ARRI, according to Honor’s global launch release datelined here and matching coverage from The Verge and Android Authority.
The China colour sheet covers Shadow Black, Glacier Silver, and Moss Green. Memory and storage cuts are 12GB with 256GB, 12GB with 512GB, 16GB with 512GB, and 16GB with 1TB. Honor says regional rollouts for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Southeast Asia, and other markets will be announced separately. Until those prices land, the yuan list should not be treated as a worldwide MSRP.

Imaging is the product’s centre of gravity. The rear stack pairs a 200-megapixel Ultra Night main camera (1/1.28-inch sensor, f/1.57, OIS with 3-degree gimbal-level stabilization) with a 200-megapixel Ultra Night telephoto (1/1.4-inch, f/2.6, OIS). The Verge pegs the telephoto at about 3.5x optical. A 50-megapixel ultrawide at f/2.0 completes the trio. Honor rates both 200-megapixel modules at CIPA 8.0 stabilization. Up front, a 55-megapixel square-format camera is built for 1:1 capture and flexible crops across portrait and landscape framing.
The self-developed HONOR Imaging Chip H1, built on a 6nm process, sits in the pipeline. Honor’s ARRI CINEMA Mode path includes ARRI LogC3, ARRI Wide Gamut 3, 10-bit colour depth, recording up to 4K at 60 frames per second, 14 preset ARRI Looks, and access to an ARRI Look Library of 87 predefined gradings. The Verge also reports support for the APV 10-bit 4:2:2 codec. Cinematic LiveVideo captures a three-second moving moment after a long press, at up to 4K. A Cinematic Directional Microphone (four-microphone array for camera recording) and stereo dual 1216 speakers round out on-device audio. Optional add-ons include the HONOR Teleconverter G200, Teleconverter G500, and a SmallRig Mobile Video Kit.

Beyond cameras, the Pro Max runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 platform with MagicOS 11 based on Android 17. The silicon-carbon battery is rated 8,600mAh and typical 8,800mAh, with 100W wired and 80W wireless HONOR SuperCharge (wireless charger sold separately). The display is a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED with Anti-Reflective Coating and NanoCrystal Shield; Honor cites reflectance as low as 1.5 percent and peak brightness up to 10,000 nits. Android Authority lists the panel at 1,320 by 2,868. Ingress ratings are IP68, IP69, and IP69K.

Techtember has already tracked the Magic 9 price path ahead of the Beijing show, the three-SKU hardware sheet, the square selfie tip, and the Super Edition endurance cut. This report is the Pro Max sale-day lock: dual 200-megapixel cameras, the ARRI cinema workflow, and a 6,499 yuan China open. Buyers outside China should wait for regional pricing and availability rather than converting the China sheet.
