Googlebooks Hit U.S. Shelves Oct. 4 From $899 With AI Pro Bundle

Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo models move from preorder to general sale, with Canada, the UK, and four other markets following Oct. 5.

Google’s first Googlebook laptops go on sale in the United States on Oct. 4, 2026, ending the preorder window that opened Sept. 21. Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, and Australia follow on Oct. 5. The five launch models, from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo, sell through googlebook.google/shop and Best Buy in the U.S., with pricing from $899 for the Acer Googlebook 14 up to $1,299 for the ASUS Googlebook 14 and HP Googlebook 14.

Google positions Googlebook as a premium sibling to Chromebook, not a replacement. The machines share a unified Android and ChromeOS foundation Google calls Googlebook OS, with tighter phone handoff than Phone Hub on Chromebooks. Continue On resumes a task started on an Android 17 (or newer) phone from the laptop taskbar. Cast My Apps streams phone apps into desktop windows. Quick Access (Files) opens phone photos and files from the laptop browser without emailing attachments. Google says sign-in migrates Wi-Fi networks, passwords, and messages with end-to-end encryption.

Every purchase activated on or after Oct. 1, 2026, qualifies for 12 months of Google AI Pro, which Google lists as a $249.99 value with 5TB of storage and Gemini Pro access. A second launch bundle adds limited-time app credits Google currently describes as up to $290-plus (YouTube Premium, BandLab, Adobe Photoshop, CapCut, Luminar, and GeForce NOW among them). Google also commits to up to 10 years of Googlebook OS feature drops for the launch lineup.

Launch configs, per Google’s store and Pandromeda’s Oct. 3 roundup of official pages, start as follows: Acer Googlebook 14 at $899 (Intel Core Ultra 5, 14-inch 2.8K OLED touch convertible, up to 16 hours web browsing, 2.51 lbs); Dell XPS Googlebook at $999 (Snapdragon X Elite, 13.4-inch 2.5K LCD touch, up to 18 hours, 2.2 lbs); Lenovo Googlebook 15 at $1,099 (Intel Core Ultra 5, 15.3-inch 2.8K OLED touch, up to 13 hours, 2.84 lbs); ASUS Googlebook 14 and HP Googlebook 14 at $1,299 each (Intel Core Ultra 5 and Snapdragon X Elite respectively). Base configs ship with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Dedicated NPUs are rated between 45 and 49 TOPS. Each lid carries Google’s Glowbar status light.

On-device Gemini features shipping day one include Magic Pointer, Rambler voice-to-structured-text beside a Quick Insert key, and Create My Widget. Security hardware centers on Google’s Titan root of trust, with model-by-model fingerprint and face-unlock mixes. Google says Chromebooks remain on sale for simpler, lower-cost buyers.
